Season 1

In order to support her crush Gu Xun, Yue Qianling takes her best friend Yin Xue to experience the interactive programme designed by Gu Xun, but they can't meet him. Gu Xun learns that his online friend "Glutinous Rice Dough Twist" is present and tries to meet her. On the day Yue Qianling resigns, she unexpectedly sees Gu Xun joining the company, and she deeply regrets her decision. Feeling down, she returns to school and agrees to meet her online friend "Campus Heartthrob." Campus Heartthrob is actually Gu Xun, yet they are unaware of each other's real-life identities.

Yue Qianling is rehired by HC Game to help with the designs. At the same time, Gu Xun and Jiang Junnan are building their own team by employing more people. All they need is a lead artist to complete their core team. Yue Qianling becomes Gu Xun's lion dance partner. She wants to do it well with Gu Xun. But in the end, she embarrasses herself by overdoing it.

Gu Xun employs the innovative concept of "Xialu" to recruit Wei Han. They agree that if "Xialu" is approved, Wei Han will join the Ninth Business Unit. Inspired by Gu Xun, Yue Qianling finally succeeds in creating a new card design and getting her draft approved. During a conversation with Twistie, Gu Xun receives inspiration from her. However, when Gu Xun and Jiang Jun Nan discuss the highlights of "Xialu," they are overheard by Map. In response, Gu Xun and Jiang Junnan immediately upgrade the cooperative mode. At a company dinner, Gu Xun begins to suspect Yue Qianling's identity and takes the opportunity to probe. However, in order to maintain her delicate lady image, Yue Qianling pretends to be gentle, dispelling his suspicions.

At the lion dance exam venue, Yue Qianling uses all her tricks to graduate but embarrasses herself instead. She meets Gu Xun while giving up. Yue Qianling works hard and finally creates a work she is satisfied with. However, Yin Jun cuts Yue Qianling's internet at the deadline. In the end, she misses the submission deadline.

Yue Qianling goes to Storm Riders Arcade to vent her frustration. She plays a fierce battle against her opponent. When the game ends, she realizes that her opponent is Gu Xun. Yue Qianling hears a girl confessing to Gu Xun. Gu Xun rejects the girl by saying that he has a girlfriend. Yue Qianling is shocked. On her graduation day, Yue Qianling decides to muster up her courage and confess to Gu Xun.

Gu Xun firmly rejects Yue Qianling's confession in public, causing Yue Qianling to lose face. Yue Qianling complains online, while Gu Xun secretly rejoices. Twistie then reveals to everyone that the person she confessed to is Gu Xun. It turns out that all the scheming and planning over the past few months have ultimately backfired on himself. But Gu Xun manages to solve the crisis with his wit. He found out that Wang Hai didn't leak the illustration on purpose. So, he doesn't hold him responsible for it. Due to the crisis, Gu Xun decides to hire a concept artist. He comes across "Wake Up When I Want To" "and is impressed with her artwork.

After exposing Yue Qianling's "Wake Up When I Want To" identity, Gu Xun invites her to join the Ninth Business Unit, but he is rejected. Gu Xun advises Yue Qianling as her friend online to motivate her. He also treats her well in real life. Yue Qianling returns to her hometown to get her driving license. Gu Xun's love rival, Tang Xin appears. Gu Xun finds out Tang Xin is Yue Qianling's childhood friend. An unprecedented crisis appears.

Yue Qianling's part-time role in the Ninth Business Unit is not well-received by her colleagues. Gu Xun quietly protects her and accompanies her during late-night overtime. However, Qianling's path to becoming an AAA artist is not smooth. Joining as a part-timer, she is misunderstood as joining through connections. Yue Qianling abandons Gu Xun and returns home with Su Zheng. Yue Qianling realizes that Gu Xun is apologizing to her after Su Zheng's reminder.

It's HC Game's anniversary celebration. Chen Xinyi makes a custom-made dress for Yue Qianling. They are the center of attraction. But due to that, they also attract the attention of their partner company's executive Ren Tianyi. Yue Qianling texts Gu Xun when she's drunk. Gu Xun worries about her safety. To protect Yue Qianling, Gu Xun goes to the scene and beats up Ren Tianyi even though his identity might be exposed.

Gu Xun and the rest are discussing the possibility of collaborating with martial arts star, Ling Yu, to help "Xialu". Yue Qianling is in charge of the proposal but Jiang Yishi takes a peek at her proposal. Jiang Yishi also sends an invitation to Ling Yu for a collaboration. The Ninth Business Unit plays Real-life CS for their team-building event. While forming their teams, Feng Ruru and her classmate want to form a team with the Ninth Business Unit. Jiang Junnan falls in love with Feng Ruru at first sight.

Yue Qianling juggles two departments and is swamped with work. Gu Xun feels bad for her and offers to help, but she turns him down. Gu Xun assigns the next stage tasks to the team of the Ninth Business Unit, including the trailer production of "Xialu". In an effort to keep Yue Qianling in his team, Jiang Yishi promotes her to the head of the art team for "Love Agent" and puts her in a difficult position as she was considering transferring to the Ninth Business Unit.

Yue Qianling finds herself in a difficult position as she wants to reject Tang Xin. Gu Xun seizes the opportunity to intervene by pretending to be Yue Qianling's boyfriend. Gu Xun finds out that the person stalking Yue Qianling is the security guard, so he sets a trap to send him to the police station. Yue Qianling is in a dilemma about whether or not to transfer to another department. She mutters to herself and is seen by Stella. Stella encourages her to listen to her heart. When she returns to Project Team 1, she bids farewell to Jiang Yishi. After work, her door lock is not working. Without any other choices, Yue Qianling ends up staying in Gu Xun's house. Gu Xun purposely picks up a call from Su Zheng on Yue Qianling's phone to create a misunderstanding that he is Yue Qianliing's boyfriend.

Gu Xun does everything he can to rush to the talk show. Even so, he still brushes past Yue Qianling. He apologizes to Yue Qianling. Yue Qianling is reminded of the time when she was rejected by him. It turns out that the buyer is Chen Xinyi. Chen Xinyi uses her liquid courage to confess to Jiang Junnan and it scares him away.

Gu Xun and Yue Qianling go to work together, but they are caught by their colleague. It turns out that everyone has already noticed the signs of their relationship, but they do not expose the two. If Watt Games acquires Gu Xun's service successfully, the Ninth Business Unit will lose most of its autonomy.

Yue Qianling and Gu Xun have a falling out. She plans to have a feast to vent out her anger, but she saw a secret meeting between Mr. Wang and Watt Games' higher-up. At a key moment, Gu Xun persuades Jiang Yishi to work together to defeat Watt Games. Meanwhile, Chen Xinyi and Yue Qianling take action. They followed Mr. Wang's driver, Xu, to convince him to rat Mr. Wang out.

With the crisis at work resolved, the Lunar New Year arrives. Despite their reluctance, Gu Xun and Yue Qianling must bid each other a temporary farewell to return home for the holiday. However, Gu Xun gives her a surprise. Meanwhile, although Jiang Junnan has been rejected by Chen Xinyi, he confesses his feelings to her once again. She agrees to give him a three-month probation period.
