Being on call 24 hours a day enables practiced midwife Terri to hide her personal life and the depths of her hoarded home; as she constantly blames the hoarding on her busy schedule, past trauma surfaces to reveal the real reason for her disorder.

After discovering that his partner was stealing from him, undergoing a necessary heart surgery and facing many other adversities, successful artist Bob becomes a recluse, buying antiques to fill up his 7,000-square-foot Victorian mansion.

Between dumpster diving, weekly swap meet purchases and occasional yard sale finds, John collects a massive amount of clutter over the years and openly admits that he feels trapped by his hoard.

Destiny refuses to leave her home after a 2004 family tragedy causes her to "basically check out of life"; the extremely hoarded house comes to the attention of the landlords, and they want the place cleaned up or Destiny evicted.

David and Elizabeth have been co-dependent co-hoarders for as long as their adult children can remember. The couple had to remortgage their home because of their addiction to buying items sold on television, such as Tiffany-style lamps. David has more than 40 of these lamps, most of which have never been unboxed. The house is overrun with mice, and Elizabeth's doctor has threatened to report them to the city and have it condemned. David treats it all like a joke - but no one is laughing. With help from the Hoarders team, will this couple be able to let go of their things and hold onto each other?
