A mysterious virus, nicknamed Medusa, is spreading around Japan, turning its victims into stone. Kasumi, one of the chosen ones, has been asleep for years and her awakening, more than a bed of roses, is a bed of thorns, and happens in the midst of total chaos where monstrous creatures lie in wait all around.
King of Thorn is a 2010 Japanese animated fantasy film that follows Kasumi, a woman awakened from cryogenic sleep to a world overrun by mysterious creatures. Based on the manga by Yuji Iwahara, this sci-fi action film explores themes of survival and mystery as the protagonist navigates a dangerous landscape filled with thorny secrets.
