Amanzio Rastelli appointed several of his relations to managerial positions in his firm. They decided to think internationally and now business is heavily in debt. Luckily for the Rastellis, Bolta the accountant uses all the tricks of his art to cook the books, but catastrophe awaits.
The Jewel is a 2011 Italian drama film following the Rastelli family as they expand their business internationally, only to find themselves drowning in debt. When their accountant Bolta attempts to manipulate the books to save the company, the family discovers that some problems can't be hidden forever.
