The Awards telecast won the Creative Arts Primetime Emmy for Outstanding Variety, Music or Comedy Special, and Jackman won the Primetime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Individual Performance in a Variety or Music Program. Wicked was easily the biggest show to open out of all of the nominees (it has not officially closed at all, making it one of the longest-running shows in Broadway history), however it didn't mean success. The revival of Assassins went and won a season-best 5 awards, including Best Revival of a Musical.
